The mango is called ‘The King of fruits’ because it tastes exceedingly delicious. There are many varieties of this fruit found all over the world, such as Langara, Chausa, Safeda, Alphonzo, Tota Pari, Dussehri, etc. It is basically a tropical seasonal fruit. Its origin can be traced back in the sub-Himalayan plains of the subcontinent. It has a smooth outer skin. When raw, its colour is green. Once it ripens to its fullest, its colour turns to golden yellow, bright yellow or orange-red. It has a big stone (pit) inside. Mango-shake, made from mango, sugar, milk and currants, is a favourite drink of young and old alike.
