A Visit to an Old-Age Home

Our teacher Mrs Sharma has a friend who runs an old-age home. He asked if some of her students would go and visit the old people after school. Some of them did not have any visitors and they got lonely. Riya, Tina, Piyush, John, Peter and I all volunteered to go. Mrs Sharma said that it would be nice if we could do something to entertain the old people. They did not often get live entertainment. Mostly they watched TV. We decided that we would sing some folk songs for the old people. We asked Mrs Sharma to play piano for us. We had two rehearsals before our visit to the home. We had tea and cake. Some of them could not walk and were in wheel-chairs. An old man kept falling asleep and waking up suddenly. One of the old ladies was talking to herself all the time. Then we sang to the old people. They really liked the songs. Some of them joined in the singing. They all clapped their hands. It was good to see the old people so happy. We would like to visit them again.
