Born in Midnapore (West Bengal), Khudiram Bose (3rd Dec. 1889—11th Aug. 1908) gave up his studies to participate in the Swadeshi Movement. He joined the Revolutionary Party and was actively involved in protest movements against the partition of Bengal. In 1907, he took part in the looting of mail bags at Hargacha.
In the same year, he was involved in the bomb attack on a train carrying Bengal Governor near the Narayangarh Railway Station. In 1908, he, along with Prafulla Chaki, organised a bomb attack on the carriage of Kingsford, the Sessions Judge at Muzaffarpur (Bihar), who had passed harsh sentences against some nationalists. However, instead of Kingsford, two English ladies got killed. Bose was arrested and was sentenced to death at a tender age of 19.
