Flowers of Appreciation

The fragrance of appreciation is highly toxic and alluring. Those tasks which our treasures, recommendations and impression cannot be accomplished, these tasks can be achieved just by mere a few words of appreciation. In this world, everyone depends upon each other. All jobs cannot be accomplished by a simple person; hence, he requires co-operation, love and affection of others to accomplish his tasks. In case the colleagues are not competent to accomplish their jobs, the job is delayed further and leads not only to the fall of the efficiency graph but also ending up of the confidence.

TRANQUILITY AND CHEERFULNESS

The wise, who knows, that one hidden in the cave of the heart as God, is liberated from the felts of joy sorrow. A mortal having realized through discrimination the subtle-self (Immortal Spirit) rejoices because he has obtained that which is the source of all joy.

Influence of Appreciation

In this society, whether it is our homes, or our offices, or in general, where, we wish to get a job/tasks to be accomplished, without the help of the appreciation of our colleagues, we cannot get our desired goals. Those persons who think that by criticizing others, their jobs can be done, are highly mistaken. By giving a situation of removing their shortcomings cannot be called civilization. We can get our jobs done by praising and encouraging others.
Man is a social animal. He is not like a machine. He is filled with emotions, reactions and patience. He cannot be hurled with a whip. He can be made to understand love and encouragement. Nothing can be achieved if we let the person down.
The importance of appreciation has been described by leading personalities as follows:

  •  Of all the melodious sounds, the sound of appreciation is highly melodious.
    —Jenafone
  • In case you would have appreciated me less, I would have appreciated you the most.
  • Depth of appreciation depends upon distance.
    —Dietrot
  • Appreciation is instrumental in inspiring truth for learned people.
    —Colton

Importance of Appreciation
By praising a person’s work, he gets inspiration by it. He feels that he should accomplish good deeds, so that the people may appreciate him regularly. This is a very good element for a successful leader. For every good deed done and to improve upon your mistakes regularly always lead to positive results only. Every person is filled with unlimited energy, power and capacity to accomplish the task. Generally, in comparison the results are less. In reality, a person works for less than his inherent capacity. Praise helps awaken this dormant energy. The results are excellent.

There is many a person in our society who does not get the opportunity to expose his multi-faceted personality. Many of them at times may get a chance of half but due to lack of appreciation and encouragement, are left behind a few steps short of their success and sit down. Psychologists have clarified that the judicious approval and true appreciation are the basic characteristic helpful in growth, well wishing and happiness of a person. the very person expects appreciation in lieu of a good job done. Every person wishes that his qualities get appreciated and recognised. If it does not happen, we get disturbed/ disappointed. On hearing the harsh tone of his master and criticism by the friends, the situation of a person becomes precarious. This is an intolerable situation, which results in the poisoning of our personality and nature. Their level of understanding is also reduced. They are deeply drowned in disappointment.
The suicide note left behind by Dr. Vinod Shah of IARI shocked every person. The contents of the suicide note written prior to his death were as follows-:
“My suicide should be considered as a sacrifice. I was not willing to die, but somehow I am forced to take this step in anticipation that in future the scientists be treated with respect and they should be praised.” It is evident that Dr. Shah wanted respect and appreciation not only for himself, but also for his colleagues.
Secrets of Progress
Renowned scientist Neils Bore paid a visit to a Science Academy in the Soviet Union. During the course of interaction many good questions were put forth. During that period of tune, Neils Bore was considered to be a leading physicist and he had a long list of genuine scientists associated with him in his institution way back at home. He was questioned, “How it came about that you have all of the world scientists working for you?”

Neils Bore smiled and replied back, “It is due to the fact that I highly appreciate their small tasks too, and never feel ashamed to accept that I am a fool.”
“Tum utho bharkar gira do beech ki deewar ko,
Dehkna Aangan Tumhara Doguna Ho Jaiga.”
Merits of Appreciation
Those people who do not get recognition for their efforts or those people, who are never appreciated either at home, colleges, officers or society, they remain demoralized.
Their confidence never develops. They are never able to face the realities of life. And believe me that if you appreciate such people, you will be surprised to see the progress in their efficiency and capacities. To know what our friends and colleagues tell about us, people adopt different types of methods and strategies. Here a small poem on Burton Barley is worth mentioning:
Yash Aur Dhan se Behtar Hai
Teeka-Teepni Sukhad Aur Ujwal.
Hardik Aur garam Joshi Bara Ek Mitr ke Samarthan,
Karta Annandit Jeewan Hamara.
Banata Hame Bhadur Aur Shaktishalli,
Akhir Tak deta Hame Dil Aur Dilasa
Arjit Kare Yadi Weh Prashansa Tumhare, Dedo Use,
Yadi Chahate Use Tum, Chahoo Abhi se.
Karo Proutsahit Use Tum Abhi
Thehro Nahi Antim Kshan Tak
Jab Pada Hoga Kabr Mei
Padega Kayse Samadhi Lekh Tumhara
Always be quick to appreciate and delay criticism. The changes brought over by this proverb are worth nothing.
Sydney Smith used to say, “Popularity is a prize in itself, for which man struggles throughout his life. In comparison to richness and wealth, popularity gives birth to double the rewards and knowledge. It is a coin of glory, and it is of the utmost importance that every person receives it with grace and gratitude.
Influence of Encouragement
Encouragement is such an emotion whose results are very encouraging and long-lasting. In case you daily condemn a school-or college-going child that there is a great deficiency in his capacity or very often remind him with screams that “what will you perform”, ‘Lowest’, or ‘it is beyond you limit, understanding’, etc. the child will automatically become a victim of inferiority complex and will leave everything to chance. However, if he is always encouraged and told nothing is impossible in this world, his confidence will increase manifold and under all circumstances, he will succeed in all ventures. Appreciation, prize or other methods can be used to encourage them. This method can be applied to our offices and homes equally. One of the major benefits of this will be that the person in order to prove his mettle would utilize his capacity and capabilities to the best of his ability, resulting in the improvement of his work both qualitatively and quantitatively. Under the influence of the pressure of fear, he may complete the work formally, but will never be in a position to give his best. For this we have to undertake the help of golden rule, i.e. Appreciation.

There is another way of encouragement. Here the mistakes are given the least importance and the emphasis is laid on finding the solutions to the mistakes. In case we point out mistakes very often, it may lead to efficiency all together and he may lose his self-confidence and he may consider you as his enemy and if an opportunity arises, he may also tend to harm you.
In reality, anybody can make a mistake. By choosing a positive attitude, the person admits his mistake and learns not to repeat it. We should try to improve this quality of our friends, colleagues, co-workers, etc. As far as possible we should not draw comparison with others. By comparison we force the person to think that we should mend his mistakes like others, but in reality, the reverse occurs.
By comparison the person gets irritated and angry. Many a time, he is a victim of inferiority complex too. Every person is fundamentally exceptional and his capabilities, and system of working are individualistic, and by using this approach we are able to win over every worker’s heart and soul.
We should keep in mind, under the influence of power or pressure, if we are successful in making a person, but in fact we lose him personally. Every person has certain basic qualities and the requirement is to analyze them and put them to utilization.
An eminent artist Charezeo died in the perplexity of grief. One of his paintings was considered priceless in Disdain Art Gallery but he received only a sum of forty duetchse for it. He could not bear the shock of this and he expired.
A renowned English poet Keats also expired, while unable to bear the pain of the criticism of his poem. Many examples can be cited on such accidents. Similarly, excess of happiness also has an adverse impact and a person may die.

Principles of Truth
As presence of butter cannot be seen in milk, fragrance and aroma can’t be seen in a flower, we are unable to see our shortcomings and good deeds of other people. We cannot see the enormous tree hidden in a seed, the pain in our body cannot be seen. Similarly, omnipresence, godliness and goodness cannot be seen.
