Raja Bhoja spoke, “You have observed the great and incredulous deeds and examples of wisdom of Raja Vikramaditya from a close quarter.”
“Yes king! The tales of Raja Vikramaditya’s justice truth, spirit of sacrifice, charitability, valour and helpfulness indeed were amazing, very difficult to emulate. I will tell you one story about one episode. Listen carefully and judge for yourself.”
The figurine revealed her story of Vikramaditya. It was indeed incredible.
Some time later, Raja Bhoja again tried to sit on the throne. Yet another figurine came to life and confronted Bhoja with another tale which again impressed him and made him rethink about gracing that divine throne.
Thus, Raja Bhoja made 32 attempts to sit on that throne and each time a different figurine thwarted his attempt with a new poser tale.
When the 32nd figurine finished her story Raja Bhoja stood there patiently infront of the divine throne. Not a word he spoke.
“Raja Bhoja!” the figurine spoke, “Why are you silent? Your patience with us reveals that you are as valiant, justiceful and noble as great Raja Vikramaditya was!”
“Figurine! What are you saying?”
“I am telling the truth, O great Raja. You have delivered us from the curse of Devi Parvati by showing incredible patience and fortitude. One of the conditions put by Parvati for our deliverance was finding a courageous king who would bear with all our thirty two stories. You did that and we are liberated.”
Raja Bhoja stared at her.
All the 32 figurines transformed into life size celestial beauties and stood before Raja Bhoja with bent heads in gratitude. Then, they spoke in one voice, “Our deliverer! Have you any wish to make?”
Raja Bhoja thought for a while before speaking, “O celestial beauties! The divine tales of Raja Vikramaditya that caused your liberation may become immortal legends to guide the future generations of rulers and people into nobility. That is my only wish.”
“So be it” said the apsaras and flashed towards the heavens.
Thus, became the story of Raja Vikramaditya an evergren legend. Immortal is his saga.
