What Countries Make Clocks?

In the period of mechanical timepieces, there was no country which was leading the clock and watch making industry. However, the migration of skilled workers from one nation to another resulted in clock and watch-making becoming an international trade. Some of the leading clock-making countries include England which is famous for the production of ship chronometers and chime clocks. Germany produces hand-carved cuckoo clocks. Creation of first modern mechanical clock is also attributed to a German, Peter Henlein. Swiss wrist watches are amongst the leading watches in the world. Special watches with exclusive features like automatics, alarms, calendars are made mostly in Switzerland. Electric clocks, automobile clocks, etc., are made in America.
