Eclipse takes place when one heavenly body hides another, completely or partially, while rotating in the sky. Eclipse of the Sun, also known as solar eclipse, is one such event. We all know that the Sun is a stationary body, while the Earth rotates around it on an orbit. The Moon is the Earth’s natural satellite and it rotates around the Earth. During this continuous movement, at times the Moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth and blocks the view of the Sun from the Earth. The shadow of the moon sweeps over the face of the Earth. This is called Solar Eclipse.
