In 1954, George Devol invented the first Robot called the Unimate. In 1956, Devol and his partner Joseph Engelberger formed the world’s first robot company. Robots were introduced into the General Motors automobile plant in New Jersey, in 1960s. Today robots are a part of many aspects of industry, medicine, science, space exploration, construction, food packaging and are even used for performing surgery. Robots can also do the same thing over and over again without getting bored and tired.
