Nile crocodiles reach a massive length of 20 feet. The body is covered in scales and they have high set eyes, ears and nostrils for submerged vigilance. They have no predators of their own and prey upon birds, reptiles and mammals. They are found in lakes, rivers, mangrove swamps and marshlands. Their average life span in the wild is 45 years.
