Why do we need to water plants?

Like all living things, plants need water to survive. In fact, plants are made up of 90% water. The amount of water that a plant needs depends on the type of plant, the amount of light it gets, and how old it is. Plants need water in the photosynthesis process through which they make food for themselves. Plants need water to absorb nutrients from the soil. Another reason is that with sufficient water and nutrients, the plant cells remain firm. Otherwise, they lose firmness when thirsty and the plant begins to wilt.
