This shy fish with an eel-like body has a dorsal fin running the whole length of the body. They grow to 1 metres in length and become blue as adults. Their strong jaws and molars grind away molluscs, crustaceans and echinoderms. Eggs are internally fertilized and guarded by the males when laid. Its skin is used as leather.
