The clown triggerfish is a small black fish with round white spots on the lower part of the body. It is a diurnal, solitary fish that can grow up to 50 cm with a stocky, oval-shaped body, a large head and a small mouth with strong teeth. It feeds on benthic organisms like molluscs, echinoderms and crustaceans. Its lifespan is 8 years.
