Dungeness crabs live in eelgrass beds and water bottoms and are popular as food due to their sweet taste and tender flesh. They molt their wide shells periodically to grow and have five pairs of legs. Its stomach has tooth-like structures to digest clams, crustaceans and small fish. If threatened, they bury themselves in the sand. Lifespan is 8-13 years.
