Living really deep in the sea, up to 5000 metres, is the dreadful-looking fangtooth fish. Growing up to 9 cm, they have big mouths that they can’t shut due to their large fang-shaped teeth. They come to the surface during night and use contact chemoreception to find prey. Juveniles filter feed zooplankton from the water and adults feed on fish and squid.
