Living in volcanic caves along island shores is the guadalupe fur seal. It is dark brown with visible ear flaps and yellowish-tan coloured hair in the back of the neck. This fish takes a swim several times a day to cool off as it has thick fur. It feeds on rockfish and squid. Its lifespan is 17-20 years.
