The moon Jelly is translucent, 25-40 cm in diameter and has 4 horseshoe-shaped gonads, visible through the top of the bell. It respires by oxygen diffusion through the membrane covering its body. It drifts with the current feeding on plankton, molluscs, crustaceans and eggs of fish. They mate in spring and summer. Their lifespan is one year.
