One of the world’s largest bonyfish, the queensland giant grouper lives in coral reefs. They can be 3 metres long and weigh up to 600 kg. Adults are green-grey to grey-brown with faint mottling. Its mouth is lined with seven rows of teeth on the middle of its lower jaw. It feeds on small sharks, sea turtles, lobsters, crustaceans and bonyfish.
