Its distinctive features are the green wings, the red head and the body around the wing, blue belly and legs, yellow under wings and a black pattern on its head that looks like it is wearing a cap.Like its cousins, this bird feeds on pollen, nectar, fruits and flowers. The female produces a clutch of 1-2 eggs, and incubates them for 24 days. These birds do not form big groups, but rather smaller groups of 8-10 birds. They create very strong bonds with only one or two birds. Its IUCN listing is the LEAST CONCERN.
