Daniel was a little boy who did not like to take his bath. When the time came for his bath, he screamed and kicked. At last, his mother used to say, “Stay dirty!” One day, Daniel did not take his bath when he went to bed at night. Neither was he bathed in the morning. No one in his neighbourhood wanted to play with him, as he looked very untidy and was stinking. He was left to play all by himself in the garden. In the afternoon, Daniel’s father sent a car for Daniel. He had promised his son to take him to the circus. But Daniel’s mother sent the car back, saying that Daniel was dirty and dirty children were not allowed to enter the circus. Poor Daniel began to feel very sad and sorry now. He burst into tears, “O Mother, please make me a clean boy again; I will never be naughty any more.” Daniel never forgot the lesson he had learnt that it was always good to be clean.
