There was an intelligent girl named Suzy. She wore spectacles or glasses, as she had poor eyesight. Her glasses were unusually large in size due to which her classmates made fun of her. One day, the class went on a school outing to visit some famous caves. Suddenly, Suzy and her classmate, Tom, fell into a big pit. The pit was actually a cave. They both shouted for help, but no one came. Suddenly, Suzy said, “It must be noontime.” Suzy said this because she noticed the ray of light descending from the hole in a straight line, and landing on the floor in front of her. Quickly, she took a piece of wood that had fallen into the pit, and, using her glasses as magnifying glass, she focused the ray of light onto the wood until a little flame sprang up. Now they had a torch. Finally, they found a way out. Tom gave Suzy his heartfelt thanks. Nobody made fun of Suzy’s large glasses any more!
