Interesting fact : Its tail acts as a ‘thumb’, helping it to grip things and branches.

Conservation status : Critically Endangered

Various species of these monkeys live in the tropical forest regions of Central and South America. They are most busy in the early hours of the morning, when they are gathering food. They deliver babies every two to five years; this is causing shrinking of population. Since indigenous people feed on their flesh; they are threatened.
