Once, there lived a poor girl. She had no family. She was very fond of flowers. She had made a small garden in her house. On Christmas, the girl was watering her plants when an elf came there. He said, “I have a Christmas gift for you.” He gave her some seeds and went away. The girl thought, ‘I should sow them soon, so that everyone may enjoy their fruits and flowers.’ Thus, the girl sowed the seeds by the side of her small hut. She watered them every day and would sing to them. She watched leaves and branches grow on the plants. A few weeks later, plenty of flowers bloomed around her hut. Soon there were fruits on the plants. As the girl went to pluck them, she saw that they had turned into little jewels! The girl was very happy. She became very rich. She opened an orphanage.
