They are covered in tough, overlapping scales. These burrowing mammals eat ants and termites using extra-ordinarily long, sticky tongues, and are able to roll themselves up quickly into tight balls when threatened. Eight different pangolin species can be found across. They are dispersed throughout southern, central and east Africa. They weigh 30-40 lb and are 12-39 inches in length.
