It is slightly larger than a domestic cat and measures 50-64 cm. They have 28-59 cm long tails, weigh 3.0-6.2 kg and can live for 12-14 years. Red pandas have long, soft reddish-brown fur on the upper parts, blackish fur on the lower parts and limbs, and light faces with white markings.
