Morris Dancing

Morris-Dancing

Morris Dancing is an ancient form of dancing that is part of the English culture.

Do you know: This dance is related to the word Moorish, as many of the dancers would paint their faces black.

With origins deep rooted in druidic traditions, the revival of this dance style had begun with various folklorists. While initially, there were only women who were part of this dance; today, dance groups are of men and women in groups of six or eight choreographed in specific patterns with feet stamping and props like swords, handkerchiefs, sticks and bells attached to the shins of the dancers.
