Duryodhana and Karna had a discussion and decided that Drona was the right person to lead the Kaurava forces after Bhishma. He was installed as the General with pomp and ceremony. For five days Drona commanded the army. Despite his age he caused great damage to the enemy forces. Duryodhana, Karna and Duhshasana wanted to take Yudhishthira captive. They persuaded Drona that they did not want to kill Yudhishthira, which made Drona very happy. Once Drona had agreed, Duryodhana revealed to his friend that he intended to capture Yudhishthira, involve him in another game of dice and send him into exile. Spies informed the Pandavas of the plan. They made sure that Yudhishthira was kept safe during the following days. The battles continued fiercely every day. Every attempt was made by different warriors to attack Yudhishthira. But each time the warriors of the Pandava army were there to shield Yudhishthira.
