Farmer Trevor Gets Lost

One day, the farm creatures had not received any food. Mrs Trevor sat on the verandah, crying. They wondered what had happened. The village policeman, Constable Hopps, came and spoke to her and wrote things down in his book. The large dog, Henry, came running out and told the others, “Farmer Trevor is lost! He hasn’t come home!” “Poor Mrs Trevor,” said kind-hearted Matilda, the cow. “Let’s be near her.” “No,” said Barley, the horse, “We had better search for Farmer Trevor!” Everyone agreed and quietly all the creatures spread out beyond the farm, searching for their master. It was Henry who found him. He had fallen into a pit and broken his leg. All the animals ran there and Barley dragged him back to the farm on his cart. Mrs Trevor was so relieved that she hugged all of them. Constable Hopps helped feed them while the doctor attended to Farmer Trevor.
