Lake Anjikuni is in Nunavut, Canada. In November 1930, a Canadian fur trapper by the name of Joe Labelle was amazed to see all the villagers gone. He found seven sled dogs dead from starvation and a grave that had been dug up. He found unfinished shirts that still had needles in them and food hanging over fire pits showing the place was evacuated in a hurry. He reported this to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who conducted a search for the missing people; no one was ever found. This terrifying and controversial mystery has since dismissed by the police as an urban legend.
