“Who named him ‘Pell’? It doesn’t make any sense!” said Winnie, the goat. “It’s short for Pelter,” explained Jacob, the horse, “He’s always in a pelter, running around frantically.” “He’s rather foolish for a dog,” said Winnie, “I suppose we’ll have to look after him till he grows up and becomes sensible.” And that’s how all the farm creatures began to look after Pell. He was a Labrador puppy who was friendly with everything. He treated butterflies, bees, hens, snakes and all other creatures as his buddies and often got into trouble! One day, he found a frog in the pond and jumped in to make friends. The frog thought he was being attacked and all the frogs began croaking! Poor Pell was so frightened. The duck took him out and he got spanked too!
