The Mill House near Lee River was known to everyone in the neighbourhood, for the miller, Mr Forrest, was a kind and generous man. Now he had added a small farm to the Mill House and the villagers were eager to help him. Mrs Forrest brought him three hens and a cock. Bob, the tailor, gave him a goat with two kids. The Banker, Mr Coolidge, gave him a large loan to buy two cows, a horse and some sheep! Humber, the baker, had sent two loaves, some pies and a large jar of cookies. There was a huge bag of groceries from Burns, the grocer. Mr and Mrs Forrest were so happy that, as soon as the new farm began, they had a party for the villagers! The villagers came to see the new apple orchard, the rows of vegetables that had been planted and all the animals. Now it’s called the Miller’s Farm!
