The Devil’s Offer

There was once a poor farmer who had lost his crops and his money. One cloudy night, he was walking back home. A dusty black car stopped next to him. “Ronald, I can help you,” said the stranger. The farmer was stunned. He had not introduced himself. The stranger had a thick grey beard and wore a hat. “How?” asked Ronald. The stranger gave him a paper to sign. It read: “I surrender my soul to the Devil for my desires.” Ronald threw away the paper angrily and walked away. The man followed him, saying. “Sign it. Your wishes will come true.” Ronald threw a rock at him. It hit his hat and it slipped off. The stranger had two horns and his eyes glinted red. Ronald ran. The demon chased him. He could hear footsteps getting closer. Just then, the moon came out. Ronald had reached his gate and ran home. When he looked out, the demon had gone.
