There was a shepherd who was bored of living on land. His heart longed for the sea. He wanted to sail around the world. So he sold his flock of sheep and with the money, he bought some crates full of dates and, along with his brother, set sail. They had not sailed far when there was a storm. The wind rocked the ship. As the storm turned violent, the ship was tossed on the waves. All the crates, the shepherd and his brother fell into the sea. The two brothers managed to stay afloat on a crate and swam back to the shore. The shepherd was sad. His hopes of sailing distant lands had failed. Just then, his brother said, “The calm sea beckons us with its beauty.” The shepherd replied, “Brother, if the sea is calm, it’s time for us to search for those lost crates of dates.”
