Kolmanskop is a ghost town situated in the Namib Desert in Southern Namibia. Kolmanskop was a bustling miner’s village from 1908 till 1954. The town came into being because a worker found a diamond in 1908, and it was soon realized that the area was rich in diamonds. German settlements built a village in the area in German architectural styles. However, once the diamond field was exhausted, the town was abandoned.
