Bella was a dog that belonged to a lovely family. The children and their daddy loved Bella but their mother did not like her. They had brought Bella from the ‘shelter for homeless dogs’ and she was a scrummy-looking but very gentle dog. The children and their daddy took turns to take care of Bella. However, one day, the children and their daddy went out and the children’s mother was left home with Bella. ‘I don’t care what Bella does,’ thought the mother, and she closed her room’s door. Soon, a thunderstorm began. There were loud cracks of thunder and the winds howled like a pack of wolves. The mother was scared! Hearing a soft scratch on the door, she jumped in fright! It was Bella. She came in, licked the mother’s feet gently and snuggled to her. All the while the storm raged outside, Bella sat on her feet, licking them occasionally. Bella’s love and kindness made the mother realise how wrong she was about Bella!
