Prince of Egypt

Jochebed took good care of her baby-son. As she grew older, she told him about the true God who had saved him from death and would care for him, even in the king’s palace. The day came when Moses had to go to the palace, to the princess. When he went out in his fine chariot, he felt angry and sad to see his own people toiling and sweating in the scorching sun, making the grand building the Egyptian king was so proud to own. He longed to rescue them from their cruel masters, who whipped them if they stopped even to draw breath. One day his chance came. One of the Egyptians beat up an Israelite slave. Moses saw it and was furious. He glanced quickly around. No one was about; So Moses killed the Egyptian bully and buried his body in the soft, sandy soil. Next day, Moses was horrified to come upon two of his own people fighting each other.
