“I am a Princess,” announced Hailey, with her nose in the air, “And princesses are always dignified and graceful!” Her friend, Beth, looked at her and said, “You know, Hailey, that you mustn’t be so vain or you’ll get into trouble.” But Hailey tossed her hair and refused to change. The next day, Princess Hailey went riding with Beth. They galloped over the meadows. The groom suggested that they should go a little slowly and Beth agreed. “There are rabbit holes in the ground,” said the groom. But Hailey was stubborn, declaring, “I don’t care for silly rabbit holes!” she galloped ahead. Her horse stumbled and Hailey flew over his head, landing in a muddy ditch! She got up splattered with mud. “What a sight you look!” laughed Beth as the groom ran to help her up, controlling his laughter! For a moment, Princess Hailey looked furious; then she too burst out laughing!
