Sheikh Chilli lived with his widowed mother in a rented house. They had a very wicked and dishonest landlord. One day, Sheikh Chilli’s landlord assigned him one task. He said, “Sheikh, go and count the number of houses in the village. I shall pay you twenty paise per house.” Sheikh was very happy to get the job. He walked through the entire village, lane by lane, counting the houses. He gave the number of houses to the landlord by evening and got the money. On his way back home, he told the entire incident to his friends. His friends told him that since the landlord was wicked, this must have been some sort of a trick. But Sheikh Chilli told his friends confidently that he had not been cheated at all. He said with a proud look on his face, “Because I cheated him this time! I just told him half the number of houses I had counted.” Listening this, his friends started laughing loudly.
