Curing Granny

Lallan, Sheikh Chilli’s neighbour, loved to fool him. He had earlier fooled Sheikh by saying that he treated the fever of the hot sickle by dipping it in water. And poor Sheikh believed him, truly. A few days later, as Sheikh passed by Lallan’s house, he heard somebody moaning in pain. He went into the house and saw Lallan’s grandmother in bed, with high fever. He lifted her up in his arms and rushed out of the house saying, “I will cure your fever, Granny. Do not worry.” After a while, Lallan and his father returned home with some medicines. They could not find Granny anywhere. A boy, who had seen Sheikh carrying Granny, told them that he had gone towards the well. Lallan sprinted to the well in fright. Sheikh was about to tie Granny with the rope, when Lallan’s father yelled, “What are you doing?” “Curing Granny’s fever, uncle,” Sheikh replied innocently. Lallan realised his mistake of fooling Sheikh with this idea. Thankfully, Granny was saved on time!
