Long ago, a sage and his disciples lived high in the mountains. Once, it rained a lot. The disciples decided to go to the nearest village and seek alms. The sage sat deep in meditation while the disciples left. Upon reaching the village, they started seeking alms. Now, the king of that province was on a visit there. He saw the disciples and invited them to his palace. The disciples became the king’s royal guests. They had plenty to eat and drink. The disciples were happy. They forgot to go back to their hermitage. One day, the king invited them to a royal dinner. There, they were served wine as well. The disciples had never drunk wine before. So, after drinking the wine, they behaved strangely. The next day, they felt ashamed of their behaviour. They decided to head back to their hermitage. When they reached the hermitage, they told their master everything and promised never to stray from their path again.
