Queyras Valley is a small region in the French Alps nearing the border of Italy. This valley is a quiet, untouched haven where one can have a peaceful holiday. The valley can be divided into two parts–one stretching towards the Italian side and the other towards the French side. The region has a Nature Park covering a vast area and is home to Mediterranean flora and fauna including chamois, marmots and partridges. The region also offers a variety of terrains for walks and exploration; it has forests, gorges and mountain lakes. Chateau Queyras, an old fort, is another attraction that is located on a hilltop at the dividing point of the valley dating back to the 13th century.
