Mild Desert

Mild deserts are generally found near the tropical regions along the west coasts of continents. These are high-altitude areas where the annual rainfall is less than 250 mm but the temperature is significantly lower than that of hot deserts. The weather of the mild desert is influenced by cooler but dry winds. These types of deserts are located in the following areas: South America, the Atacama Desert near to the Pacific Ocean; regions along the Pacific coast of the Baja California Peninsula; and Africa, along with the sections of coastal Namibia.
