Once, there lived a king who had a wise and courageous son. His fairy godmother had gifted him a magic sword that only the prince could use—no one else could lift it. One day, an ogre entered the kingdom and destroyed the houses of people. The people complained to the king. The king sent his brave son to fight against the ogre. When the ogre saw the prince, he laughed. “You are so small; what can you do?” “Let’s have a bet. Whoever lifts this sword will win and the loser will leave the kingdom!” said the prince. The ogre tried to lift the sword but could not. He grunted and heaved, but the sword did not move. “You try!” said the tired ogre. The prince lifted the sword easily. The ogre accepted defeat and left the kingdom. The whole kingdom went wild with joy and everyone happily greeted the prince.
