Once, there lived a girl named Nina with her parents. One day, Nina went to a lake to fetch water. When Nina dipped the pot into the lake, it slipped from her hands and fell into the lake. Nina started crying, her teardrops fell into the lake. Suddenly there was a big ripple in the lake and an elf appeared. The elf said, “Dear child, don’t cry. I am the water elf. I will help you.” Saying this, the elf went into the lake and returned with a pot of silver. Nina cried, “That is not my pot.” The elf smiled and returned with a pot of gold. Nina said, “No, this is not mine.” Finally, the elf returned with Nina’s clay pot. Nina smiled and said, “That is mine!” The elf said, “Nina, you are an honest girl. I will reward you with the pots of gold and silver as well.” Nina thanked the water elf and went back home happily.
