Once, a lion was very hungry. His stomach was growling with hunger. But sadly, he could not find anything to eat. Then, he saw an empty cave. He decided to go inside and wait for an animal to come back. Now, a jackal lived in that cave. When the jackal came back to his cave, he noticed the footprints of the lion going inside but could not find any footprints coming out. But to confirm that there indeed was a lion, the jackal shouted, “Hello Cave! Can I come inside?” There was silence. Then the jackal again shouted, “Why are you silent today? You always answer.” The foolish lion thought, ‘The cave must be replying to the jackal every day. I must reply or the jackal will go away.’ So, the foolish lion replied, “Hello Jackal! You may enter.” The jackal realised that the lion was waiting for him, so he ran away.
Moral: Always be cautious.
