Once upon a time, there was a man named Fred. He loved watching the stars at night. It was his favourite pastime. One night, he was gazing at the stars as usual. He started walking while watching the stars. He got so much involved in watching the stars that he did not notice that he had reached the edge of a dry well. And before he could stop himself, he fell into the well. He lay there groaning in pain. A man, passing by, heard his groans and came to the well. He asked, “How did you fall down?” Fred told him all that had happened. The man said, “Hmm! So you were busy looking at the sky without caring where your feet were carrying you on the ground.” “I suppose so,” said Fred. The man said, “Then you deserve to fall. Helping you would be a mistake.” Saying so, the man went away.
Moral: Look before you leap.
