Birds Remind Hatim of His Duty

Hatim wanted to visit Zarinpash instead of visiting Munir after he had solved the fourth puzzle. At that time, his conscience was awakened by two birds. The male bird said, “You will not miss me when I am gone.” “How can you be so sure?” asked the female bird. The male bird replied, “I saw a king, who on a hunting trip met a beautiful woman and fell in love with her. When his time to return came, he gave her a ring and asked her to remember him. She showed him a bunch of rings and said to him, ‘I am not sure if I will remember you. See, so many kings have come and left their rings with me!’ Thus I know you too won’t miss me.” “Then don’t go!” said the female bird. “I am not Hatim who would forget his path of duty and stay with his wife!” replied the male bird.
