The adventure of the silver sea and the silver mountain is worth mentioning. The boat that carried Hatim to the silver sea contained food and water and sailed into the sea all by itself. The silver water was so tempting that Hatim touched it and magically his hand turned into silver! The silver mountain was full of precious stones and pearls. As Hatim climbed up, their size and brilliance increased. Again, in his temptation, he picked them up. The weight of his silver hand and stones made his journey tiring. He sat down to rest and dozed off. In his dreams, Hatim was advised by a wise man, “Don’t give into your temptations. Throw away all the stones you are carrying, for they are not yours! Wake up and drink the water from the fountain on your right. It will make your hand normal. Then, you may move on.” Hatim realised the futility of his actions and soon found himself out of the temptations of the silver mountain and the silver sea.
