The Disturbing Grasshopper

The-Disturbing-Grasshopper

Long ago, an owl lived on a tree. But he was upset. He could not sleep as he was disturbed by the constant singing of a grasshopper. The owl pleaded to the grasshopper, “Would you be so kind to stop singing? It disturbs my sleep.” But the grasshopper paid no heed. He increased his singing instead. When the owl saw that the grasshopper was not listening, he decided to play a trick on the selfish grasshopper. He said, “Since I cannot sleep because of your singing, I shall treat myself by drinking some nectar. You are most welcome to join me and we will drink it together.” The grasshopper suspected no foul play. He believed every word of the owl. The thought of drinking nectar excited him. He immediately accepted the invitation. As the grasshopper flew up, the owl came out from his hollow and killed him.
Moral: Troublesome people often have a bad end.
