A long time ago, Jupiter, the chief of gods, was getting married. He gave a big reception and invited all the animals to attend it. All the animals excitedly went to attend the reception. All except the tortoise was missing. Jupiter noticed this and was surprised at his absence. One day, Jupiter saw the tortoise and asked him, “Why didn’t you attend my reception? I had invited everyone. What was the reason for your not coming?” The tortoise replied, “I do not go out much. I prefer to stay at home. Why should I trouble myself when there is no place like home?” Though the tortoise meant well yet his tone was rude. Jupiter felt insulted and cursed the tortoise, “Now, you will always carry your home on your back and never be able to unload it.” So, from that day, every tortoise carries his home with him.
