One day, a fox fell into a deep well and could not come out. After a while, a thirsty goat came there. He asked the fox if the water was good. The fox said, “Yes!” The goat, only bothered about his thirst, jumped into the well. When the goat was drinking the water, the fox told him that they were stuck in the well for good. Then he said to the goat, “If you will place your forefeet upon the wall and bend your head, I will run up your back and escape, and will help you out afterwards.” The goat agreed and the fox leaped upon his back and was out of the well. When the goat asked the fox to help him out, the fox laughed and said, “If you had any brains, you would not have jumped into the well in the first place.” Saying so, he ran away.
